Call Center / Benefits Customer Service Representative

**Must reside within 2 hours of Pittsburgh, PA US 15222 as there may be limited occasions where coming on site is needed including 1st day orientation on site to pick up equipment before transitioning to a remote setting

Duration: Contract, starting in August or September, most roles go through end of December but there is potential for extension

Title: Virtual/Remote Benefits Customer Service Representative
Location: San Diego, CA. (Must live within 2hr radius of Pittsburgh, PA US 15222)
Pay Rate: Training pay rates non-bilingual $16.50/hr for English Speaking; $17.25 per hour if fluent in Spanish

After 30 days - pay increases to: $18.00 per hour for English Speaking; $18.75 per hour if fluent in Spanish


Schedule: Weekdays only, no weekends (must be open to work between the hours of 8am - 7pm EST , will be scheduled 8 hours between this time) - schedule will need to be open to these hours, no accommodations can be made - extended hours can be until 11p as needed

Schedules are assigned with the business need of the service center as the primary determining factor but also may be impacted by physical locations, CSRs are asked to be flexible to work within the core hours of operation for the assigned service center location (including extended hours) ** extended hours apply during very busy season - open enrollment time and depends on the client assigned. You would generally know by the 2nd week which client you are assigned - this typically lasts during the annual enrollment, 1-2 weeks

Onboarding training hours will differ from the CSRs ongoing shift. Once assigned to clients, the CST will be scheduled between 32-40 hours weekly and will have the same availability as the client hours, schedules are not guaranteed and are subject to change based on business need

What’s a typical day as a Benefits Customer Service Representative? You’ll be:
- Build rapport quickly and respond to plan participants with compassion via phone, email, and instant messaging.
- Customize your service approach to accommodate various communication styles and maintain professionalism during challenging interactions.
- Handle confidential information with utmost sensitivity and adhere to HIPAA and Data Privacy laws.
- Maintain accurate call and case notes in a professional manner.

This job might be an outstanding fit if you:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in customer service preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to multitask, and organize work effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to manage multiple computer windows simultaneously.
- Typing speed of at least 30 words per minute.
- Comfortable working in a virtual environment within a 2-hour radius of San Diego, CA (Mission Valley area).
