We’re currently seeking dedicated Registered Nurse Managers for FT, exempt positions Monday-Friday, with on call rotations. This is a 3P-11P position.

WHAT YOU DO:

As an RN Nurse Manager at the Luther Acres Healthcare Center, you’re an integral part of providing compassionate care to the residents in our skilled nursing center and ensuring they are comfortable by monitoring their overall health and well-being. Among your responsibilities, you will:

  1. Supervise the healthcare center and assign work as appropriate. Provide instruction and direction in methods and techniques of nursing and resident care. Ensure that the care, comfort and well-being of the resident is attained in accordance with established standards and procedures. Perform nursing duties following licensure scope of practice.
  2. Manage resident emergency situations following established protocols, coordination/accessing appropriate health team members and resources, and properly documenting events.
  3. Complete annual performance evaluations for licensed practical nurses and take appropriate corrective action as needed. Identify, execute, and communicate training needs with the Director of Nursing.
  4. Conduct interviews with direct care applicants as needed.
  5. Assist the Director of Nursing with the management of overtime in the healthcare center. Address time management concerns and provide guidance and direction for improvement.
  6. Oversee and perform resident assessments and formulate a plan of care based on the MDS/QR assessments, diagnosis, and daily needs. Complete all necessary documentation to include MDS/QR assessments and follows through with RAI process. Perform resident documentation as required following Luthercare’s Medical Record Documentation standard.
  7. Responsible for the coordination of care with physicians, consultants and other practitioners.
  8. Provide clinical expertise and oversight in the management of medical emergencies and interventions to treat and prevent further events. Provide information/updates to nursing staff, supervisors, physicians, and other disciplines as appropriate to coordinate continuity of care.
  9. Order and receive medications, treatment supplies, resident care supplies, and nursing station supplies for the assigned area.
  10. Monitor department resources and coordinate the ordering of supplies as appropriate.
  11. Assist with hands-on resident care as necessary, including medication administration, treatments and activities of daily living and answering call bells as needed.
  12. Maintain proficiency level status with knowledge and use of the Electonic Health Record software. Ensure all nursing staff are properly trained with the EHR software and use it according to policy. Enter new or agency staff as users into the EHR as needed.
  13. Manage clinical programs as directed by the Director of Nursing. Maintain a high degree of safety awareness and infection control practices.
  14. Assume on call responsibilities on a rotating schedule and cover licensed staff absences as needed.
  15. Complete investigations related to resident, family, or visitor concerns. Report investigation results to the Director of Nursing. Complete regulatory reporting requirements as necessary, e.g., PB22, DOH event reporting, etc.
  16. Attend clinical meetings as assigned.
  17. Perform auditing as assigned

Our Nurse Managers and LPNs are assisted by Certified Nursing Assistants in providing care to our residents.

ABOUT LUTHER ACRES:

Luther Acres – located in the charming, historic town of Lititz – is a Continuing Care Retirement Community with a long history of providing excellent care and services. It is part of Luthercare, which is a not-for-profit, faith-based, and mission-driven organization. Luthercare provides a network of services through its full continuum of care with two communities in Lancaster County. Luther Acres is home to nearly 600 residents who live in independent living cottages and apartments, personal care apartments, and the skilled nursing healthcare center.

EDUCATION & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Current PA Licensure as a Registered Nurse.
  2. Current CPR Certification.

ESSENTIAL JOB-RELATED EXPERIENCE/ABILITES:

  1. Demonstrated knowledge of the principles and practices of supervision and of resident care management.
  2. Ability to maintain a therapeutic attitude toward, and effective relationship with physically ill or infirm residents.
  3. Ability to instruct staff, assign work, evaluate performance, and prepare reports.
  4. Ability to lift and turn residents with a maximum of 50 lbs. effort and perform the functions required to push residents in wheelchairs.
  5. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
  6. Fit testing as needed per Luthercare’s Respiratory Program.
  7. Proficiency in Microsoft applications, including Outlook and Teams.
  8. Ability to learn/use Workforce Management systems.

EXPOSURE TO HAZARDOUS CONDITIONS:

  1. Exposure to blood and body fluids is frequent.
  2. Exposure to contaminated needle sticks is occasional

PREFERRED JOB-RELATED EXPERIENCE/ABILITES/EDUCATION:

  1. One (1) year experience supervising nursing personnel.
  2. Knowledge of RAI (Resident Assessment Instrument) Process.
  3. Ability to utilize electronic health record processes
