SALARY/RANK: Rank and tenure track status will be determined based upon the qualifications, skills and experience of the successful candidate.

QUALIFICATIONS: A completed doctorate in the field of education is required. A minimum of five years’ public-school teaching experience and an active Instructional Level 2 Elementary Teaching Certification are required. Successful candidates must have an extensive background in the Pennsylvania Department of Education program guidelines, as well as teacher certification requirements for the state of Pennsylvania.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate will be responsible for twelve credit hours per semester with a focus on early literacy and language development, teaching the language arts, differentiation, and remediation within the area of literacy, cultural awareness, and ELL instruction. The selected candidate may supervise interns and student teachers in the field. Candidates must hold or be willing to obtain the Program Specialist ESL certificate in the state of Pennsylvania. Background and curricular needs will dictate the teaching schedule. In addition, student advisement at the undergraduate level and participation in service to the University and to the Department are expected. Demonstrated experience in the STEM field, undergraduate course development, graduate-level course development, and delivery in online environments is favorable.
