Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Lab Technician to operate both pilot scale and lab scale testing apparatus. The role involves operating and performing light maintenance on small-scale equipment such as pumps, heaters, and mixers, preparing samples for testing, and performing various laboratory analytical tests. The technician will also manage samples for third-party laboratory analysis and communicate data and results effectively, ensuring the cleanliness of lab and operating areas.

Responsibilities

• Operate pilot scale and lab scale testing apparatus.

• Perform light maintenance on small-scale equipment including pumps, heaters, and mixers.

• Prepare samples for testing and conduct various laboratory analytical tests.

• Manage samples for third-party laboratory analysis.

• Communicate and manage data and results efficiently.

• Maintain cleanliness of lab and operating areas.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in laboratory, chemistry, wet chemistry, and R&D lab work.

• Strong data analysis skills.

• Experience with instrumentation such as IC, ICP, FTIR, and analytical chemistry.

• Proficiency in titration and reverse osmosis.

• Familiarity with analytical systems like HACH, analytical balances, and volumetric glassware.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• BS degree in Chemistry, Physics, or Biology.

• Associate in Applied Science Degree with chemistry experience and 3 years related work experience.

• Experience in benchtop wet chemistry analytical procedures.

• Experience with standard laboratory instruments.

• Utilization of probes for measuring process variables.

• Familiarity with Inductively Coupled Plasma - Optical Emission Spectrometry (ICP-OES) and Ion Chromatography (IC) analysis.

Work Environment

The position is on-site in a lab environment, operating from Monday to Friday.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Canonsburg, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
