Manager Sales Engineering

EMPLOYER'S NAME: Penflex Corporation.

POSITION TITLE: Manager(s), Sales Engineering.

POSITION DUTIES: Manage the Sales Engineering Department at Penflex, with responsibility for supervising a team of Sales Engineers with varying experience levels. Oversee the development and delivery of quotations, design packets, and product recommendations for Penflex's flexible metal hose, braid, assembly, and expansion joint products. Coordinate technical support activities for Penflex distributors, end users, and internal stakeholders. Lead collaboration with Penflex's manufacturing, quality assurance, purchasing, and customer service departments to ensure feasibility, manufacturability, and compliance of proposed solutions. Manage team operations including hiring, training, onboarding, and mentoring of new and existing Sales Engineers. Establish and monitor performance goals, provide technical training programs, and implement continuous professional development plans for the team. Responsible for strategic workforce planning for the Sales Engineering Department based on business growth projections. Develop strategic sales engineering plans to support market expansion. Maintain accurate sales engineering records within Penflex's Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, including tracking account activities, proposals, and forecasting reports. May require travel to develop new sales opportunities, approximately 8-10 weeks per year, mostly in the US and Canada, some international. Telecommuting Permitted.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: 36 months of experience in job offered, Mechanical Engineer, Industrial Engineer, Sales Engineer, or related occupation.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Experience must include: (1) Designing flexible joints to meet customer needs and applicable design codes, including ASME B31.l, ASME B31.3, ASME Section VIII, EJMA and/or EU PED products to include metal hose, bellows, assemblies, and expansion joints. (2) Preparing calculations to assure proper implementation of metal hose and braid products. (3) Analyzing finite elements using Cosmos and SolidWorks. (4) Providing analysis on pipe stress (AutoPipe, Caesar). (5) Supporting inside and outside sales, engineering, manufacturing, purchasing and quality assurance for metal hose and braid products. (6) Implementing advanced leak testing methods, including Helium Mass Spectrometry. (7) Managing customer sales accounts, including increasing revenue and customer lifetime value.
