Position Profile – Quality & Compliance Manager

Position Scope:

The Quality & Compliance Manager is responsible for defining, measuring, and interpreting quality information as well as using this information to develop training materials and subsequently train employees throughout the organization in support of improving overall quality performance. This position is also responsible for supporting Nadcap auditing requirements.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

2. Lead, Manage, Accountability (LMA):

  • While this role has no direct reports, as a key leader this person should serve as an example of professionalism and company culture for all employees
  • Lead by influence across the organization by holding company leaders accountable through tangible KPI performance and council to senior leadership

3. Inbound Quality Control:

  • Clearly define the nature of all non-conformances
  • Work with supervisor, sales team, and operations to understand inbound quality expectations for each specific customer
  • Identify clear quality attributes that can be tangibly quantified as pass or fail
  • Update customer profile templates and/or job order notes to communicate expectations for audits and attributes measured
  • Work with supervisor and operations to develop, implement, and manage effective QC audits for inbound shipments
  • Perform audits of operations employees to validate results as needed
  • Escalate exceptions to the operations team and technical manager as appropriate

4. Production Quality Control:

  • Clearly define the nature of all non-conformances
  • Work with supervisor, technical manager, and operations to understand production quality expectations for each job
  • Identify clear quality attributes that can be tangibly quantified as pass or fail
  • Update customer profile templates and/or job order notes to communicate expectations for audits and attributes measured
  • Work with supervisor, operations and Technical Manager to develop, implement, and manage effective QC audits for production quality
  • Perform audits of any quality auditors to validate results as needed
  • Escalate exceptions to the operations team, Facility Manager, and Technical Manager as appropriate

5. Outbound Quality Control:

  • Clearly define the nature of all non-conformances
  • Work with supervisor, sales team, and operations to understand outbound quality expectations for each specific customer
  • Identify clear quality attributes that can be tangibly quantified as pass or fail
  • Update customer profile templates and/or job order notes to communicate expectations for audits and attributes measured
  • Work with supervisor and operations to develop, implement, and manage effective QC audits for inbound shipments
  • Perform audits of operations leadership to validate results as needed
  • Escalate exceptions to the operations team as appropriate

6. Nadcap AC7004 Auditor:

  • · Track and report on key quality tracking metrics (KPIs)
  • · Monitor operations to ensure they meet production standards
  • · Recommend adjustments to the assembly or production process
  • · Read blueprints and specifications for parts
  • · Inspect, test, or measure materials or products being produced
  • · Measure products with rulers and gauges
  • · Operate electronic inspection equipment and software
  • · Accept or reject finished items
  • · Remove all products and materials that fail to meet specifications
  • · Report inspection and test data such as grades and quantities inspected
  • · Trains and motivates employees to ensure that quality standards are met

7. Quality Performance Reporting:

  • Report on QC audit results on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual basis
  • Ensure results are accurate and reported in a timely manner

8. Quality Investigation Support:

  • · Support plant leadership and technical manager in researching QC issues
  • · Review camera footage, conduct interviews, and document findings

9. Training:

  • · Work with HR to define and document all training requirements
  • · Create training materials that effectively communicate ideas, concepts, and processes to a diverse audience
  • · Support operations and all employees through administering training on correct processes to ensure the optimal outcome for all processes
  • · Assess employee skill gaps, design training strategies, and evaluate training effectiveness
  • · Work with HR to ensure training activity is properly tracked

Position Requirements:

  • · High school diploma or equivalent
  • · 5+ years experience in a manufacturing facility, preferably in a metal finishing facility
  • · Experience with QC measuring and testing equipment
  • · Analytical, reasoning, and adaptability

Work Environment:

This full-time role is expected to be available on-site during core business hours to complete assigned responsibilities, which may require flexibility.

The work environment at US Anodize is typical of a metal finishing manufacturing site including a variety of chemicals, machinery, and power sources. The employee in this position will be exposed to a variety of manufacturing site environments and will be responsible for making the work environment as positive as possible - both in safety as well as in the working environment for all staff.

This position may require prolonged computer use; extended periods of standing or sitting; frequent bending; and maneuvering and/or lifting loads of up to 50 lbs. Safety glasses are required while on the shop floor.
