Assembler
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assemble and install mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, water & electrical systems and components at various stages of final assembly.
• Assemble components and sub-assemblies per work instructions, schematics, and verbal instructions.
• Prepare installed equipment with necessary fluids, lubricants, greases, etc.
• Perform preliminary operational test on installed equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Mechanical assembly experience with strong mechanical aptitude.
• Must have basic hand tools and appropriate storage.
• Must have high standards of quality and pride in work.
• Must be able to work effectively independently and with others.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
• Ability to read schematics, diagrams, and work instructions.
• Ability to safely operate overhead cranes, forklifts, miscellaneous air and electric hand tools.
• Ability to work in prolonged postures (bending, stooping, kneeling, walking, standing, and squatting) while performing all job tasks.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.
• Ability to climb ladders.
• Ability to use standard hand tools and power tools.
• Able to solve problems and make decisions.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Industrial/commercial manufacturing environment.
• May be exposed to mild levels of shop dust and hexavalent chromium.

• Comply with Drug & Alcohol policies.
• Maintain requirements of personnel file including participation in required safety training.

• Maintain positive working relationships with all coworkers, visitors, and personnel.
• Direct complaints or concerns to appropriate staff
• Incorporate safety policies and procedures into daily work practices.
• Perform all duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Understands and demonstrates commitment to the mission of GapVax, Inc. through daily communication, cooperation, and attention to detail of work performed.
