ASSISTANT CONTROLLER
Direct-hire role south of Pittsburgh.
Workplace Type: On-Site
Responsibilities
- Oversee all day-to-day accounting operations, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, invoicing, payroll, fixed assets, and inventory
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, including P&L analysis
- Manage accounting for business and property taxes, as well as work-in-progress (WIP)
- Serve as the primary point of contact for annual financial statement and 401(k) audits
- Enforce strong internal controls and ensure compliance with GAAP
- Provide analytical support and cash management guidance to executive leadership
- Partner with operational leaders to deliver financial insights and support decision-making
- Lead, develop, and mentor the accounting team to drive efficiency and accuracy
- Collaborate closely with senior finance leadership on reporting, analysis, and strategic initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- CPA and/or MBA in Finance strongly preferred
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience across public accounting and private industry
- Demonstrated experience in an environment with inventory complexity
- Experience with treasury, cash management, and cash flow analysis
- Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and impact business performance
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to understand and support complex operational and transactional environments
- Strong Excel skills and demonstrated experience working within an accounting ERP system
