Manager, Strategic Insights
In direct partnership with the Commercial Solutions Business Development team and the Commercial Leadership Team, this role will work to identify and analyze market trends, develop research/insights/solutions that will help win new business and inform internal strategic objectives. The role will work closely with many groups and individuals across the enterprise and provides broad exposure to the strategic and operational opportunities facing the leading pharmaceutical companies and Syneos Health.
This is both a strategic and analytical role that reports to the Director, Strategic Insights. Essential Functions:
As a key foundation for the Commercial organization, you will:
- Provide ongoing consultative support to the Commercial Business Development team by analytically enabling their efforts to identify opportunities and build partnerships with key customers that drive revenue growth for Syneos Health.
- Leverage insights from traditional and AI-driven research to develop strategy that identifies opportunity and recommends action.
- Collaborate with Business Development and Commercial Leadership to design comprehensive solutions and develop proposals for customer opportunities, including team sizing, engagement modelling, demonstration of value, market evaluation, and other associated solution design components.
- Collaborate with the Syneos Health analytical community to research targeted companies and help guide customer targeting efforts.
- Develop succinct cogent overviews of therapeutic areas, product promotional strategies, and pharmaceutical company challenges/opportunities.
- Coordinate and manages strategic account planning process and periodic reviews; assist in the development of annual business plans for targeted key client organizations.
- Use primary and secondary market research data, AI-powered analysis tools, CI tools, and previous enterprise experience to develop value-creating solutions designed to address client needs, and thereby win and maintain business for Syneos Health.
- Respond to ad hoc information/analytic requests from the Commercial Business Development community.
- Work on a nimble, entrepreneurial team, within a matrixed organization.
Requirements:
- At least 5 years professional business experience required in one of the following: solutions-oriented secondary research, analytics, consulting, competitive intelligence, or business development within the pharmaceutical/biotech industry
- Bachelor's degree preferably in Business, Marketing or Life Sciences. Master's or other advanced degree preferred (MBA, MPH, PhD, etc.)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, and one of SQL, Python, or other querying/analysis language to analyze complex datasets is required
- Experience using AI for research and analysis
- Experience in Market Access, Patient Support Services, or related areas within the pharmaceutical industry strongly preferred
- Strong time management skills with the ability to support multiple competing priorities
- Strong verbal and written communications skills required
- Excellent quantitative skills, the ability to think critically, and ability to structure problems so they can be solved
- Knowledge of common pharmaceutical data sets including sales, Rx, medical claims, etc.
- An entrepreneurial spirit, a desire to innovate and create, and comfort in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
The annual base salary for this position ranges from $119,667 to $139,600. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high of the Syneos Health range for this position. Actual salary will vary based on various factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. In addition, some positions may include eligibility to earn commissions/bonus based on company and / or individual performance.
