Professional Land Surveyor

Land Surveying- Heavy Civil - Transportation Construction -Civil Engineering

A growing heavy civil contractor in the Greater Philadelphia area is seeking a Professional Land Surveyor (PA or NJ Licensed) to support transportation, highway, and infrastructure construction projects. This role will lead field and office surveying activities, support construction layout, manage survey deliverables, and coordinate with project teams to ensure work is executed accurately and on schedule.

Responsibilities

• Perform and oversee construction layout, control, stakeout, and as-built surveying
• Conduct topographic, cross-section, boundary, and field surveys
• Prepare and review as-built drawings, redlines, technical reports, and survey deliverables
• Utilize GPS, robotic total stations, and AutoCAD Civil 3D for data collection and project support
• Read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and survey data
• Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, engineers, and field crews
• Manage survey schedules, budgets, and multiple project assignments
• Supervise field survey personnel and support on-site survey operations
• Review and certify completed survey work
• Ensure compliance with applicable state regulations and project requirements

Qualifications

• Active PA and/or NJ Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license
• 5+ years of surveying/engineering experience
• 3+ years of construction surveying experience
• Experience with heavy civil, transportation, or highway projects preferred
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, GPS, Trimble, Total Stations
• Strong understanding of construction layout, as-builts, and survey control
• Ability to manage deadlines, communicate effectively, and work in field conditions
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as needed
