Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Carpenter to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for executing high-quality carpentry work across a variety of projects, ensuring precision, safety, and efficiency on every task. As a vital member of our crew, you will bring your expertise in framing, drywall finishing, trim, and finish carpentry to deliver exceptional results that meet project specifications and client expectations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects within the restoration, remodeling, and new construction industries.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute carpentry tasks.
- Construct, install, and repair structures such as walls, floors, ceilings, doors, windows, siding, and roofing using hand tools and power tools.
- Perform framing work including metal stud framing and concrete forming to support building structures.
- Install fixtures such as cabinetry, doors, trim, moldings, and hardware with precision and attention to detail.
- Handle heavy lifting safely while maintaining adherence to OSHA standards; assist with scaffolding and other site safety protocols.
- Conduct restoration tasks including water damage remediation, plastering, stucco application, and rebar installation.
- Fabricate custom components in the shop or on-site using woodworking skills or CNC machinery when applicable.
- Assist with demolition, remodeling projects, and site cleanup to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
- Utilize schematics and technical instructions to complete projects accurately; communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding project progress or issues.
Requirements
- Minimum of 8 years experience
- Truck or Van with Rack and personal tools including power tools
- Proven experience as a journeyman carpenter or in a similar construction role with hands-on site experience.
- Strong knowledge of construction estimating, blueprint reading, and schematic interpretation.
- Proficiency with hand tools such as saws, hammers, chisels; power tools including drills, grinders, nail guns; and specialized equipment like CNC machines if applicable.
- Experience with various carpentry disciplines including trim carpentry, framing (metal stud), roofing, siding, flooring installation (tile and wood), drywall installation (including plastering), masonry basics, plumbing rough-ins, electrical work basics, and fixture installation.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining focus on safety protocols; familiarity with OSHA standards is preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with an eye for detail; ability to read technical drawings accurately.
- Strong communication skills for collaborating effectively within a team environment.
- Certification or experience in restoration industry practices such as mold remediation or water damage restoration is a plus.
