Logistics Manager

Job Summary: This is an experienced individual contributor position which works under limited supervision and is responsible for logistics management for the entire organization which includes but is not limited to: making shipping arrangements with carriers and clients, negotiating shipping rates, working with financial institutions to receive final payments and maintaining shipping records.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: | % of Time

• Make arrangements with shipping companies for client delivery and create the Bill of Lading for all orders produced.
• Process client folders in anticipation of shipment by calculating cubes, mileage and tractor trailer accessibility.
• Contact clients to coordinate deliveries in advance of job completion.
• Provide clients with all necessary shipping documents and final sales orders.
• Maintain logistics logs throughout the shipping process.
• Maintain client folders and create client intake sheets.
• Update CRM with all pertinent shipping information.
• Schedule in-house installers for installation or service jobs on behalf of clients.
• Coordinate with manufacturing to ensure client orders are ready for shipment and all necessary paperwork is complete.
• After shipment, prepare client folder for submission to Controller.
• Negotiate freight rates with carriers, both Domestic and International.
• Ensure final payment is received from financial institutions prior to installation or delivery.
• Resolve shipping delays or issues as they arise.
• Coordinate crate builds and pricing.
• Create NAFTA, Commercial invoices, and all International documentation.
• Communicate weekly sales reports to upper management.
• Coordinate use of company vehicles by maintaining company calendar, retaining vehicle keys and scheduling use of vehicles.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:

• High School Diploma/GED; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of seven (7) years or more of prior logistics management experience, preferably for a manufacturer.
• Prior experience with Customer Relationship Management software, required.
• Prior experience with Solomon Accounting Software, preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Proficient in Microsoft Office application such as Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of logistics management.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and as an individual contributor.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Strong negotiation skills.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks with conflicting deadlines.
• Knowledge of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
