Shift Supervisor-Converting Nights (Hiring Immediately)
This position is responsible for supervising, scheduling and coordinating personnel in the Converting Department. The Press Shift Supervisor drives the profitability of Quad Graphics by monitoring the quality and production of all finished products from the Converting process to ensure expectations of customers are met/exceeded.
RESPONSIBILITIESMonitors the quality and the production of all finished products from the Converting process.
Oversees press crews to ensure quality of product.
Ensures proper direction is given to multiple press crews.
Performs quality checks on products.
Ensures that employees understand customer expectations.
Performs press OK’s in a professional manner
Communicates with other departments on a daily basis and in a professional manner.
Resolves issues that impact productivity.
Ensures Department Measures of Quality for Uptime, Imps. Per Hour, and Waste.
Ensures quality through reviewing press pulls.
Supervises Converting Personnel.
Supervises all general and daily activities of the press crews.
Manages employment for efficient and economical production.
Resolves issues that impact employee productivity.
Maintains accurate records.
Conducts performance evaluations that meet position description guidelines.
Communicates with all employees to ensure a productive work environment.
Edits payroll and records attendance for all Converting employees.
Ensures all employees are participating in all training functions that pertain to the department and their future development.
Assists crews with troubleshooting various problems that occur within the converting process.
Provide guidance and feedback to press crews running below target.
Interfaces with various departments to ensure delivery, equipment capabilities, and job requirements are met.
Provides problem follow-up and job feedback to the necessary departments
Recommends cost reduction projects.
Attends tech walks and shift change meetings.
Participates in Mini War Room documentation of barriers.
Establishes, maintains, and enforces procedures which allow safe, accurate, and cost-effective handling of equipment and materials.
Conducts monthly safety meetings.
Performs departmental safety audits.
Performs safety inspections and investigations.
Ensures that Converting personnel follow safe work habits.
Ensures that Converting personnel maintain a safe work environment.
Develops and ensures compliance with the Converting department procedures.
Ensures press crews are properly trained.
Strives to meet and exceed all measures of Quality as set forth by the department.
Manages self-development.
Seeks opportunity to improve skills and knowledge.
Participates in company-sponsored training and development programs, using the skills learned on the job.

REQUIREMENTS (Specific knowledge, skills, education, and abilities):
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the Converting department. 2 years of supervisory experience helpful.
