Your role and responsibilities:
In this role, you will have the opportunity to be a design authority for an engineering discipline. Each day, you will complete assignments on multiple projects of moderate size or portions of major projects in a cost-effective manner. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring assignments are completed in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and cybersecurity policies and standards.
While this is a remote position, there is preference for candidates located in Eastern Time Zone.
This role is contributing to the Secure Power Team in the United States.
You will be mainly accountable for:
Working with the customer to shape and deliver solutions while seeking customer feedback to drive and deliver improvements.
Creating work plans and cost estimates for the portfolio of projects and ensuring quality, timely implementation within the targeted cost.
Coordinating with relevant functions to ensure the designs are appropriately manufactured / staged, tested, installed, and commissioned.
Coaching engineering colleagues on the translation of conceptual designs to engineering documentation, best practices, and lessons learned from past projects.
Qualifications for the role:
Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering (or similar) strongly preferred.
8+ years experience in electrical distribution or power systems required.Previous field, factory, or design engineering experience in data centers, hospitals, or industrial facilities.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; fluent in English (written and spoken).
Proficiency in MS Office, MS Teams, and ability to leverage AI tools in job functions.
Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to travel upwards of 40% as needed.
Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US

ABB provides 11 paid holidays. Salaried exempt positions are provided vacation under a permissive time away policy.
While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicant's qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $98,700 and $157,920 annually and is eligible for a short-term incentive plan/annual bonus.
