A day (and night) in this role

Your shift kicks off at 5:30 PM, Tuesday–Friday . You size up the production line, listen for the telltale hums, and get ahead of potential failures. One hour it’s a gearbox alignment; the next, you’re tracing a control fault through an HMI to an IO issue. When the team calls, you’re there—welding a cracked bracket, rebuilding a cylinder, or dialing in a VFD. By 5:30 AM , the plant’s set for another strong day—and you’re headed into a three-day weekend (Saturday–Monday).

Compensation and schedule

• $35–$40/hour base (DOE) + $2/hour shift premium
• Tuesday–Friday, 5:30 PM–5:30 AM
• Full-time | Pen Argyl, PA

What you’ll work on

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems: motors, gearboxes, conveyors, bearings, chains, belts, pulleys, and rollers
• Diagnose/repair hydraulics: cylinders, valves, solenoids, pumps; build hydraulic hoses
• Perform welding and fabrication (MIG and stick) in multiple positions
• Track down electrical issues via schematics, wiring diagrams, multimeter, and megger
• Install, align, and commission equipment using hoists, jacks, and precision tools
• Support and tune VFDs (SEW, Siemens, Lenze, Allen-Bradley)
• Test equipment, identify parts, complete repairs, and document preventative maintenance
• Work at heights and operate forklifts, cranes, and scissor lifts when needed
• Champion safety and cleanliness, including proper LOTO

What you bring

• 2+ years in Electromechanics, Industrial Maintenance, or similar
• Comfort with power tools, precision measuring devices, and lathe/milling equipment
• Hands-on experience with bearing heaters, interference fits, and removing gearboxes or seized bearings/shafts
• MIG and stick welding proficiency; able to fabricate and make structural repairs
• Strong electrical aptitude: IOs, OLs, contactors, relays, brake resistors, and related components
• Ability to read and interpret schematics/diagrams
• Experience with 480VAC, 120VAC, 24VDC, and 4–20 mA systems
• Use of multimeters, meggers, oscilloscopes, and related test gear
• Exposure to VFDs, programmable sensors, SCADA , HMI , and PLCs ; PLC troubleshooting
• Collaborative mindset and a partnership approach with production

Education

• Electrical certificates or equivalent experience (preferred)

Physical demands

Expect frequent lifting up to 50 lbs (occasionally up to 80 lbs), continual machine observation, and regular movement throughout the facility. You’ll reach with hands/arms, talk, hear, and smell frequently; occasionally remain stationary; climb steps and ladders; and position yourself in tight spaces as needed.
