Software Development and Programming Instructor
Campus/Location: Altoona, PA
Employment Type: Full-time- Academic Year
Position Duties
The selected candidate will:
- Serve as instructor for the SDP program during scheduled class times
- Prepare lessons and course materials
- Deliver lectures and hands-on technical instruction
- Assess student performance and provide academic advising
- Develop and administer student assessments
- Participate in curriculum updates and program improvements
- Contribute to program growth, innovation, and continuous improvement
- Partner with the admissions team to support recruitment initiatives
- Collaborate with industry partners and assist in strengthening employer relationships
Required Qualifications
Applicants must possess:
- A minimum of three (3) years of professional work experience in the Software Development field
- A solid foundation in:
- Software engineering methodologies
- Application development best practices
- IT project management
- Proficiency in SQL
- Technical proficiency in at least three (3) of the following programming languages:
- C/C++
- C#
- Java
- Javascript
- PHP
- Python
- Minimum of an associate degree
- Technical proficiency in at least three (3) of the following programming languages:
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing on both Unix/Linux and Windows platforms
- Prior teaching or training experience
