Sales Manager
Summary Overview: Under the supervision of the Owner, the Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Foulk's Floor and Home Showroom, including managing service levels, marketing activities, and sales performance. This role involves creating a positive customer experience, ensuring the showroom operates efficiently, and leading the sales team to achieve targets and goals. Duties Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Showroom Operations
- Open and close the showroom according to established procedures.
- Handle customer service conflicts and claims professionally and effectively.
- Plan, manage, and execute showroom promotions to drive traffic and sales.
- Implement and manage the showroom layout to optimize product presentation and customer experience.
- Oversee the maintenance of showroom appearance and order, ensuring a clean and organized environment.
- Manage showroom advertising and marketing efforts to increase visibility and attract potential customers.
- Purchase showroom equipment and supplies, ensuring all needs are met and budgets are adhered to.
- Manage and enhance the overall customer service experience.
- Maintain a high level of professional knowledge about flooring, kitchen, and bath products to better assist customers.
- Manage showroom expenses, ensuring adherence to budget and financial goals.
- Assess and assign sales territories to optimize coverage and performance.
- Measure, track, and analyze sales performance by individual and by team, using data to drive improvements.
- Recruit, hire, and onboard Account Managers, ensuring they are well-prepared for their roles.
- Set goals for both experienced and new Account Managers, providing coaching and support to achieve these goals.
- Manage showroom and sales staff through one-on-one meetings, team meetings, side-by-side coaching, and performance evaluations.
- Develop and oversee reward and recognition programs to motivate and acknowledge staff achievements.
- Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or GED required. 3-5 years of related management experience in business-to-business sales is preferred.
- Language Skills: Ability to write business correspondence and effectively present information to customers.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to read and interpret Profit and Loss (P&L) statements and calculate figures such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, email, and the ability to learn and utilize the POS system.
- Analytical: Ability to collect and interpret data, using personal knowledge and intuition to develop informed conclusions.
- Problem Solving: Effectively address and resolve practical problems and suggest alternative solutions in group settings.
- Interpersonal Skills: Build trustful relationships, approach others tactfully, and maintain confidentiality while managing emotions.
- Oral Communication: Actively listen, speak clearly and persuasively, and make effective presentations in both one-on-one and group situations.
- Teamwork: Be objective, open to others’ viewpoints, and foster individual commitment to team goals.
- Planning and Organizing: Set personal and professional goals, develop realistic action plans, and follow through effectively.
