MANNA is a nonprofit organization in Philadelphia that provides nutrition services to improve health for people with critical illnesses who need nourishment to heal. By providing medically tailored meals and nutrition education, we empower people to improve their health and quality of life.


POSITION SUMMARY
:

MANNA is seeking a full-time staff member with strong experience in events and communications who is passionate about advancing the work of a mission-driven nonprofit organization and supporting various efforts of the development department. The coordinator will work closely with MANNA’s Communications, Media and Marketing Manager and the Manger of Events and Corporate Partnerships to grow the organization’s digital profile and provide support for MANNA’s annual fundraising events and additional cultivation/stewardship events. The successful candidate will be a dependable, enthusiastic, detail-oriented, strategic multitasker with a knack for event support and an eye for engaging content.


EVENT RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with Events Manager, and other colleagues, to implement all planning, logistics, and execution of MANNA’s annual fundraising events and additional internal events and related programs. Tasks include but are not limited to:
    • Assist in maintaining and updating each event’s master planner including logging tasks and tracking to-dos.
    • Participate in many event-related planning meetings and take notes for record-keeping purposes.
    • Help lead on-site support during each event to ensure successful event execution.
    • Assist with the setup, breakdown and cleanup of each event including but not limited to alcohol purchasing and storage, signage, tables, linens, props, disposables, serving ware, etc.
    • Track and record in-kind auction and raffle item donations.
    • Conduct excellent customer service via phone and email communications.
    • Contribute to miscellaneous activities as needed during event planning, execution, and wrap-up.

  • Assist with supporting community events (events executed by outside organizations or donors). Oversee MANNA’s Social Enterprises, including but not limited to all MANNA Shop sales utilizing Square.
  • Other duties as assigned.


COMMUNICATION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the planning, creation, and execution of content across print and digital platforms, including social media, websites, blogs, newsletters, and events.
  • Develop and manage Instagram and Facebook content, including post scheduling, Stories, reels, and community engagement (comments, DMs, shares).
  • Assist with event promotion through social media campaigns to increase brand awareness and engagement.
  • Capture and collect photo/video content at MANNA events, and within the facility; maintain organized digital asset files.
  • Create creative assets (graphics, short-form videos, flyers, signage) in collaboration with the Communications, Media & Marketing Manager (CMM).
  • Co-develop event-related creative materials (logos, invites, save-the-dates, sponsorship materials, campaign videos, swag, etc.).
  • Lead in-house printing of approved event signage and materials.
  • Help maintain and update MANNA’s website to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Maintain brand resources and templates for internal use (e.g., display screens, bathroom flyers, etc.); ensure all content aligns with MANNA’s brand voice and visual guidelines.
  • Coordinate timelines, asset delivery, and approval of workflows for communications-led projects (e.g., e-newsletters, annual report).
  • Participate in monthly content strategy meetings and provide communications support to other departments as needed.
    • In partnership with MANNA team members, serve as a MANNA brand representative who helps to build key relationships and represents MANNA in a variety of settings.

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills including comfort with public speaking.
  • Robust organizational skills, with an ability to practice flexibility given the nature of event work.
  • Experience and comfort working with high-net-worth donors, Boards of Directors, and/or other executive-level groups.
  • Ability to keep the big picture in mind while having a strong eye for detail.
  • Positive attitude and professional demeanor.
  • Knowledge of MS Office and Canva required. Adobe Creative Suite, Salesforce, and WordPress are preferred. Graphic design experience is a plus.
  • Ability to operate within fixed deadlines while balancing multiple priorities and to manage projects independently or with minimal oversight.
  • A desire to learn and grow in a fast-paced organization.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and to pitch in where and when needed.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle preferred.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 1-3 years experience in a related field

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Must be able to sit/stand at a desk for long periods.
  • Must be able to read fine print on paper, computer, and databases.
  • Must be able to lift 30 lbs., climb stairs, drive or travel to other sites, and walk to and from parking lots.


EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS

All offers of employment at MANNA are contingent upon the successful completion of our standard pre-employment credentialing process, which may include a criminal background check, drug screening, and reference verification, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

This position follows MANNA’s hybrid work policy, which currently allows for one remote workday per week, with the remaining workdays performed on-site at MANNA’s facility.

Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required to support organizational events, community engagement activities, and fundraising initiatives.

MANNA reserves the right to modify workplace policies as necessary to remain compliant with federal, state, and local laws and public health guidance.


SALARY
: $49,000 - $54,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
