SALARY/RANK: Commensurate with qualifications and experience. This is potentially a tenure track position.

QUALIFICATIONS: Doctoral degree preferred, ABD near completion will be considered. A minimum of two years of biology teaching experience required. The successful candidate should possess strong analytical and communication skills and should demonstrate an ability to work collaboratively and effectively with students and with other instructors. Effective teaching and advising experience, demonstrated organizational skills, and the ability to work independently are also strongly desired. Experience teaching lecture and lab components of Ecology, Invertebrate Zoology, and Vertebrate Zoology preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES: This is a full-time, 9-month position with teaching responsibilities in biology. The successful candidate will teach lecture and lab components of Ecology, Invertebrate Zoology, Vertebrate Zoology, and Capstone Research Seminar. In addition, the successful candidate will assist with student recruitment and will serve as a research mentor and academic advisor. Advising duties extend through the 4th year of our 3-1 marine biology program, during which our marine biology majors are transient students at Coastal Carolina University. Our Director of Marine Science has affiliate status at CCU. The Director of Marine Science also shares responsibility for the care and upkeep of our marine laboratory on our campus in western Pennsylvania.
