Payroll Manager :


- Manage daily payroll operations for domestic and international, multi-state payrolls covering faculty, staff, and students.
- Supervise, coach, and develop payroll staff.
- Maintain payroll policies, procedures, and process documentation.
- Identify and implement process, efficiency, and risk improvements.
- Oversee year-end processing, including W-2 preparation, review, and distribution.
- Ensure accurate tax calculations, withholdings, and timely filing of federal, state, and local payroll taxes; manage compliance reviews, audits, and agency coordination.
- Monitor payroll metrics and daily performance reports; take corrective action on issues.
- Oversee payroll reconciliation, recordkeeping, and validation of deductions (benefits, retirement, insurance, garnishments).
- Resolve escalated payroll issues, including union, expat, and special pay cases.
- Design and deliver payroll training on procedures, systems, and policies.
- Lead process redesign, workflow improvements, and payroll system enhancements with HR, Finance, and IT.
- Conduct analytical research, support KPI development, and contribute to project planning.



Required Qualifications (Skills, Experience) :

- At least 10+ of payroll experience required, including actual payroll management roles ( managerial roles )
- Ideally CPP ( Certified Payroll Professional )
