We are now hiring Food Runners and Expeditors to join our growing team.

Job Description:

A Food Runner is responsible for delivering food orders from the kitchen to customers' tables quickly and accurately, while also assisting with table setup and maintaining cleanliness in the dining area. They act as a communication link between the kitchen staff and servers to ensure a smooth dining experience for guests.

A Food Runner is a vital role in the restaurant industry, responsible for delivering food from the kitchen to customers' tables. This position ensures that orders are served quickly and accurately, enhancing the overall dining experience.

Key Responsibilities

Primary Duties

• Deliver food orders from the kitchen to customers promptly.
• Act as a communication link between kitchen staff and servers.
• Assist in setting tables and clearing used dishes.
• Ensure food presentation meets restaurant standards.
• Follow health and safety regulations.

Additional Tasks

• Help servers by refilling drinks and resetting tables.
• Maintain cleanliness in the dining area.
• Communicate special requests or allergies to kitchen staff.

Requirements and Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in a restaurant setting is beneficial but not always required.
• Good physical stamina to carry heavy trays and stand for long periods.
• Strong communication skills to interact with customers and staff.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.

Qualifications:

• Good communication skills
• Able to accurately read and communicate orders
• Well organized, shows a sense of urgency; able to track multiple orders and multi task
• Works well under pressure
• Team player, works productively with others
• Understanding of food safe practices

Key Responsibilities:

• Presents him/herself professionally, e.g. clean uniform, well groomed
• Maintains up to date knowledge of recipes, procedures and plating for all menu, special and promo items for which he/she is responsible
• Prepares grill/char grill/salad/sandwich/entree items to recipe or special order
• Meets timing standards
• Coordinates orders with others, assists coworkers as needed
• Works cooperatively with front of house staff to respond to guest needs
• Ensures his/her areas of responsibility are well stocked and guest ready
• Maintains high standards of cleanliness, safety and food safety throughout the shift
• As required: stock taking, cleaning, opening and closing tasks; and any other duties designated by the management team or Kitchen Leader.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 (+) hours in length.
• Ability to lift and carry 0-75 pounds on a regular basis, throughout the shift.
• Must be able to push and pull equipment of various sizes and weights (e.g. 25lbs pot of hot water), throughout the shift.
• Must be able to kneel, bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill tasks.
• Requires grasping, standing, walking, repetitive motions, hearing ability and visual acuity.
