Operations Manager Hanagan Landscaping

Hanagan Landscaping is a growing maintenance and landscape installation company that services clients in the Southeastern Pennsylvania area. We are an employee first company that prioritizes team work amongst all employees. 

The operations manager’s job is to ensure all landscape and snow operations run efficiently and are at or under budget. This is a fast paced environment and this position requires being detail oriented, having excellent communication skills and knowledgeable in commercial landscape and snow operations.

Qualifications
- 5 years landscape field experience performing commercial maintenance, enhancement, and installation work, and all aspects of commercial snow and ice management.
- 5 years landscape manager experience in this or a similar position.
- Clean driving record.
- Experience in Service Auto Pilot or similar industry business management software.
- Leadership and management experience.
- Strong communication, leadership, organization, and planning skills.
- Time management and the ability to multi-task and maintain a sense of urgency for tasks.
- Self motivated, results driven, and the ability train crew leaders and crews.
- Ability to hold crews accountable and make and follow through with goals for crews or individuals.
- Ability to create and understand different budgets; Budgeted vs. Actual man hour reports, job costing reports, and P & L reports.
- Excellent computer and smart phone skills: Microsoft Office, Service Auto Pilot (or experience in similar industry business management software) ability to use the following in smartphone apps.
- Be well versed in proper landscape techniques and skills and be able to operate all equipment used in commercial landscape maintenance, enhancements, and commercial snow removal.
- Basic plant identification of plant material commonly found in the landscape.
- Experience and knowledge of basic landscape construction and enhancement work including: paver installation, retaining wall installation, plant installation, turf installation, landscape lighting, drainage systems, and basic irrigation system knowledge.
Responsibilities
- This position will report directly to the owner.
- Communicate and enforce company policies, procedures, and goals to all crew members.
- Hire, onboard, and train new hires.
- Train existing crews to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Lead the morning roll out and dispatch of crew, including going over daily work orders with crews before they roll out.
- Conduct weekly tailgate and safety talk with all crews.
- Perform site visits/audits to ensure work is completed to company and clients standards and look for possible upsells.
- Assist in generating landscape, snow, and enhancement proposals.
- Analyze job variance reports and provide feedback to crews and estimating.
- Enforce company policies and safety procedures.
- Regularly inspect company vehicles and equipment to make sure it is in proper working order and recommend if maintenance is needed.
- Manage and order materials as needed.
- Verify and approve all completed work orders and completed and correct.
- Identify and implement a solution for any operational issues.
- Resolve any client issues quickly and professionally to provide a positive customer service experience.
