Assistant Director
We are seeking a seasoned educator and leader to serve as Assistant Director. This role is designed for a former School Director or retired teacher with significant supervisory experience. You will partner with the Director to manage daily operations, lead our teaching staff, and ensure the highest standards of safety and educational excellence.
Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Assistant Director to join our organization and help lead our educational initiatives to new heights. This pivotal role involves supporting the development and implementation of strategic plans, managing budgets, and overseeing management activities within an academic environment. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for education administration, strong leadership skills, and experience working within a university setting. As an Assistant Director, you will collaborate closely with senior leadership to foster a vibrant learning community, ensure operational excellence, and promote innovative teaching practices that enhance student success.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership: Manage day-to-day school operations, including scheduling and staff management, particularly in the Director's absence.
- Instructional Support: Review and approve lesson plans, ensuring they align with our STEAM-focused curriculum and Pennsylvania licensing standards.
- Staff Supervision: Mentor, train, and evaluate teaching staff to maintain a high-performance culture.
- Family & Community Engagement: Cultivate trusting relationships with parents, providing exceptional customer service and clear communication regarding student progress.
- Compliance: Ensure the facility remains in total compliance with state and local regulations, including health, safety, and ELRC requirements.
- Administrative Tasks: Assist with enrollment and record-keeping.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Proven track record as a former School Director, Assistant Director, or Lead Teacher. Retired teachers with supervisory experience are highly encouraged to apply.
- Supervisory Background: Minimum of 2–3 years of direct supervisory or leadership experience in an educational setting.
- Educational Foundation: Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in computer applications and educational platforms (e.g., Brightwheel).
- Certifications: Active CPR and First Aid certification; must be able to pass a Child Care Licensing background check and FBI fingerprinting.
- Physical Ability: Must be able to stand for extended periods, sit on the floor with children, and lift at least 40 pounds.
