Job Title: Plant Controller

Location: Allegheny County, PA (100% Onsite)

Industry: Manufacturing / Industrial / Plant Accounting

Pay: $100,000 – $115,000 (Direct Hire)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM

About the Company:

An established manufacturer within the industrial sector is seeking a hands-on Plant Controller to oversee financial operations at its Western Pennsylvania site. This organization blends local production with global backing and innovation. The role is ideal for someone who thrives in a plant-based environment and brings a strong command of both traditional accounting and modern financial strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee full-cycle accounting, including AP/AR, bank reconciliations, general ledger, and balance sheet preparation
• Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare reports detailing variances between standard and actual production costs
• Lead budget creation and financial forecasting in collaboration with operations and executive teams
• Perform detailed income statement and balance sheet analysis
• Maintain robust internal controls, particularly around inventory; oversee monthly cycle counts and periodic physical inventories
• Serve as finance liaison to plant leadership, providing insights to support operational and strategic decisions
• Prepare audit-ready documentation and assist with external audits
• Interpret financial data to advise on business improvements and process optimization
• Support and lead projects focused on efficiency, cost reduction, and financial clarity
• Present financial information to senior stakeholders in a clear, actionable manner
• Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies and relevant standards

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
• MBA or CPA highly preferred
• 5–10+ years of relevant experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and cost accounting
• Audit experience strongly preferred
• Demonstrated experience in budget preparation, financial analysis, and performance reporting
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems
• Excellent problem-solving skills and business acumen
• Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with plant operations
• Self-starter with a proactive, hands-on approach
