Line Cook

Bart’s Bagels is a hybrid --- bagel bake house, smoked fish joint and neighborhood coffee shop that elevates the ordinary and raises the bar for Jewish comfort food in Philadelphia. We are seeking an awesome, reliable and hardworking individual to join our team as a Line Cook at our West Philly shop.

Bart’s Bagels is unique because it honors traditional bagel-baking methods by producing handmade, kettle-boiled bagels that are slowly fermented and have a beautiful dark crust and are perfectly chewy with seeds on both sides.

We’re a scratch kitchen; everything is made in house. We go above and beyond to put out quality food and have a good time connecting with customers and fellow team members. Come rock the fast paced breakfast and lunch rushes with us using your short order cooking and sandwich artistry skills.

We are hiring for a full time position; Friday through Tuesday. Days off Wednesday and Thursday.
CANDIDATES MUST HAVE WEEKEND AVAILABILITY.

Responsibilities and Requirements:

• The food comes first - willingness to put out and create the highest quality food
• Perfectly executed cooked to order breakfast items and bagel sandwiches
• Great Communication - Will need to read orders, understand instruction and talk to their fellow cooks to make sure the food is delivered hot and delicious.
• Need to be able to stand on your feet for long periods and lift heavy objects from storage.
• Product knowledge - willingness to learn all of our products and be an educator to our customers and new staff
• Need to be able to work as a team to create a great dining experience for customers
• Maintain clean work area
• Food Prep - cream cheese, smoked fish, smoked meats
• Monitor food for freshness and safety and check food storage.
• Fast paced environment
• Able to multitask

This position will include advancement opportunities for the right candidate as well as great pay and benefit package based on experience. This position is full time. You will work five days per week and have two days off. Weekends are a must and you will need to be able to work during the holiday season.
