Double Wide Forklift Operator

Job Description

This role focuses primarily on operating a sit-down forklift to move product and double pallet loads within a warehouse environment. You will spend most of your time on the forklift with occasional case picking and manual material handling to support overall warehouse operations.

Responsibilities

• Operate a sit-down forklift safely and efficiently for approximately 90% of the shift to move product throughout the warehouse.
• Handle and transport double pallet loads using a quad/double forklift configuration as a regular part of daily tasks.
• Use an RF scan gun to scan, track, and verify products and pallet movements accurately.
• Perform case picking and manual labor tasks for approximately 10% of the shift to support order fulfillment and warehouse needs.
• Load and unload materials from trucks, docks, and storage locations using a sit-down forklift.
• Follow all warehouse safety procedures and equipment operating guidelines at all times.
• Assist with general material handling duties, including organizing, staging, and replenishing products as directed.
• Work scheduled shifts, which may include weekday or weekend hours, while maintaining consistent attendance and punctuality.
• Communicate with team members and supervisors to coordinate workflow and ensure timely completion of tasks.

Essential Skills

• At least 6 months of recent experience operating a sit-down forklift.
• At least 6 months of experience working with an RF scan gun in a warehouse or similar environment.
• Proven experience moving double pallet loads using a quad/double forklift configuration.
• Demonstrated ability to perform loading and unloading tasks using a forklift.
• Experience with case picking and basic manual material handling.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to safety procedures.
• Reliable attendance and ability to work the assigned shift schedule.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in shipping and warehouse operations.
• Comfort working in a warehouse environment with material handling responsibilities.
• No specific formal education requirements.
• No personal protective equipment or medical certifications required beyond standard site expectations.

Work Environment

This position is based in a warehouse setting, with a focus on forklift operation and material handling. You will work primarily on a sit-down forklift handling single and double pallet loads, and you will regularly use RF scanners and related warehouse equipment. Shifts may include Monday through Thursday schedules (such as 5:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. or 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.) or Friday through Sunday schedules (such as 6:00 p.m.–6:00 a.m.), depending on operational needs. The environment is typical of a distribution or logistics warehouse, with active loading, unloading, and product movement throughout the facility.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pittston, PA.

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Pittston,PA.
