Summary:

Mistick Construction, a leading Pittsburgh-based general contractor specializing in multi-family housing, elder care facilities, residential, and commercial construction, is seeking a carpenter finisher with a minimum of 5 years of framing and trim carpentry lead experience, to be a part of our construction team.

Essential Functions:

• Ensure that the correct materials are collected before beginning a job.
• Building items, such as shelves, doors, windows, counters, and other carpentry projects, to the correct scale and dimensions.
• Work from sketches and drawings, as well as verbal and written descriptions of what’s required, to complete the job to the right specifications.
• Make adjustments to projects, installing windows and doors, and following blueprints.
• Dismantle and demolish designated items before carrying out repairs or inputting new materials.
• Comfortable working as part of a team, and have the strength and stamina to work long hours and lift heavy materials.

Knowledge, Skills and Requirements:

• A minimum of 5 years of framing and trim carpentry experience.
• Ability to read blue prints and understand schedules.
• Precision to take accurate measurements and make precise cuts.
• Great hand-eye coordination to avoid injuries and damage to materials
• Strong attention to detail, organizational, time-management and problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
• Ability to read, write, understand and communicate in English.
• An assertive, detail oriented, self-starter preferred.
• May include evening and weekend hours, depending on the project.
• Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions as needed.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license are required.
• All new hires are subject to eVerify processing and must pass a drug test and physical.

Education & Experience:

• High School Diploma required.
• Carpenter Apprenticeship or Associate’s Degree is a plus.
• Extensive knowledge and competency with carpentry methods, tools and procedures.
