Data Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Data Engineer for a Contract with a client in Malvern, PA. The ideal candidate with extensive expertise in Java, AWS, Python, and event‑driven architectures, the candidate must be able to design and lead the development of scalable batch and streaming data pipelines .

Rate Range: $58/hour to $68/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Data Engineer job responsibilities include:

• Architect, build, and maintain scalable batch and event‑driven data pipelines using AWS services such as Kinesis, MSK/Kafka, Lambda, and Glue/EMR.

• Develop high‑performance ETL/ELT workflows using Python and PySpark, optimizing for speed, scalability, and cost efficiency.

• Design and manage data lake and warehouse architectures across S3, Glue Catalog, Athena, and Redshift.

• Implement and optimize Spark‑based data processing, including partitioning strategies, stateful transformations, and schema evolution.

• Ensure robust data quality, monitoring, security, and compliance through IAM, CloudWatch/Datadog observability, and encryption best practices.

• Lead design reviews, create reusable engineering frameworks, and mentor junior engineers to drive engineering best practices.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• 15+ years of professional experience in Data Engineering and distributed data systems.

• Deep hands‑on expertise with AWS cloud services (S3, Glue, EMR, Lambda, Step Functions, Kinesis/MSK, DynamoDB, Redshift).

• Strong proficiency in Python, PySpark, and event‑driven/streaming architectures for large‑scale data processing.

Pay Details: $58.00 to $68.00 per hour
