Position Overview:

The Employment Specialist / Job Coach provides direct support to individuals with disabilities and/or justice-involved backgrounds as they prepare for, secure, and maintain competitive employment. This role involves career planning, employer outreach, on-the-job coaching, and ongoing support to ensure long-term job success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one job coaching and employment support in community and workplace settings.

• Assist clients with job readiness skills, including interview preparation, resume development, and workplace etiquette.

• Accompany clients to interviews, job fairs, and employment-related appointments when necessary.

• Support individuals during onboarding and job training to promote independence and workplace success.

• Develop and maintain positive relationships with employers to identify job opportunities and advocate for clients.

• Monitor and document client progress, maintaining detailed case notes and submitting timely reports.

• Collaborate with vocational rehabilitation counselors, families, and other support providers to coordinate services.

• Educate employers and coworkers about disability awareness and accommodations when needed.

• Attend team meetings, trainings, and supervision as required.

Qualifications:

• Associate's degree or 48 college credits required or Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, or related field preferred.

• Experience working with individuals with disabilities in a supported employment setting preferred.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to motivate and encourage others.

• Must be organized, flexible, and able to work independently.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards.

Additional Requirements:

• Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.

• Must pass background checks and clearances as required by program regulations.

• Availability to work flexible hours, including some mornings or early evenings depending on client schedules.
