Human Resources Generalist

Job Description
HR Generalist – Where Strategy Meets Accountability
Pittston, PA
Are you an HR professional who believes that "The Buck Stops Here" when it comes to workforce stability? In our vertically integrated food production facility, we don’t just manage a roster—we manage a high-stakes, fast-moving workforce where temporary staffing is the lifeblood of our operation. We are looking for an HR Generalist who treats our relationship with staffing agencies like a strategic partnership and the performance of our temporary team as their own personal mission. This isn't a role for a bystander. We need a high-stamina leader who can navigate the complexities of a contingent workforce, command respect from agency partners, and hold every individual on our floor—permanent or temporary—to the same unwavering standards of excellence.
THE MISSION
As HR Generalist, you are the architect of our labor stability. You are responsible for ensuring that our temporary workforce is not just "filling seats" but driving production. If an agency sends sub-par talent, you address it. If a shift isn't fully staffed, you find the solution. You take the hit for labor gaps and fix the process.
Core Responsibilities:
- Agency Relationship Management: You are the primary point of contact for our staffing partners. You don’t just take what they give you; you set the standard, audit their compliance, and demand the "Type A" talent our facility requires.
- Contingent Workforce Accountability: You manage the unique challenges of temporary labor—from high-volume onboarding to immediate performance intervention. You ensure that "temp" does not mean "temporary standards."
- Onboarding & Compliance Integration: You bridge the gap between agency orientation and our rigorous floor standards. You ensure every temporary worker is a gatekeeper of quality and safety from their first hour on the line.
- Labor Optimization: You partner with Production Supervisors to eliminate labor waste. You proactively manage the "revolving door" by identifying high-performers for permanent roles and removing underperformers with zero hesitation.
- Rigorous Documentation: Manage agency billing, attendance tracking, and safety records with zero margin for error. In our world, if it isn't documented correctly, it didn't happen.
QUALIFICATIONS OF THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
We are looking for a disciplined, observant, and resilient professional who understands the grit of food manufacturing.
- Battle-Tested Experience: 2+ years of HR experience in high-pressure manufacturing. Direct experience managing high-volume temporary staffing is a requirement.
- Bilingual Proficiency: The ability to speak, read, and write in Spanish is a significant asset. You must be able to communicate standards and resolve issues across our diverse workforce directly.
- Agency Command: You have a proven track record of holding vendors accountable to SLAs (Service Level Agreements) and quality metrics.
- Technical & Analytical Skills: You can read a labor budget as well as you can read a production schedule. Strong Excel and data management skills are required.
- Relentless Work Ethic: Production doesn’t stop at 5:00 PM. You have the flexibility to manage staffing crises whenever they occur and stay until the mission is accomplished.
WHY APPLY?
We value HR leaders who don't need to be micromanaged. If you are a high-accountability professional who thrives on the challenge of stabilizing a complex workforce, you will find a home here. We offer a competitive benefits package and a seat at the table in a thriving industry that rewards results. Ready to lead our workforce?
We are an Equal Opportunity Employer. Background Check and Pre-employment drug screening is required.
