Pump Repair Technician

Kurt J. Lesker Company (KJLC) is seeking a Pump Repair Technician to join our Manufacturing / Repair & Manufacturing team in Glassport, PA . This is a hands‑on, onsite role focused on evaluating, repairing, rebuilding, and testing mechanical vacuum pumps and industrial equipment . This position is ideal for mechanically inclined technicians who enjoy troubleshooting, working with tools and machinery, and supporting high‑quality repair services in a safety‑focused manufacturing environment.

Job Details:

• Type of Employment: Full-time
• Location: Glassport, PA
• Division/Department : Manufacturing /Repair & Manufacturing
• Reports to: Operations Manager
• Shift: 1st (Mon-Friday)

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate, repair, rebuild, and test mechanical vacuum pumps and related industrial devices
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems including motors, sensors, and wiring
• Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled equipment servicing
• Follow work instructions and document repairs using an ERP system
• Read and interpret part numbers, schematics, and measuring tools
• Operate machinery and hand tools safely and effectively
• Maintain safety standards and comply with company policies
• Safely operate a forklift (certification required or obtainable)
• Participate in continuous improvement through the 6S Program
• Collaborate across departments to support service center operations
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Required:

• Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems
• Ability to read and follow product schematics and election part descriptions
• Intermediate technical knowledge and mechanical aptitude
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Able to obtain a forklift certification and safely operate the forklift
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and internet applications
• Ability to bend, stoop, squat, twist, and lift up to 60 lbs unassisted
• Fluent in English (reading and writing)

Preferred:

• Two or more years of technical troubleshooting or repair experience
• Experience with industrial equipment, rotating machinery, pumps, or manufacturing repair environments
