The YMCA of the Roses is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accounts Receivable and Administrative Assistant to support the financial operations of our Association. This part-time role is integral to ensuring accurate financial reporting, timely processing of receivables, and the overall integrity of our accounting systems. In addition to supporting core finance functions, this position provides essential administrative assistance to help maintain efficient day-to-day finance operations.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Junior Accountant maintains a supportive, positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals and coordinates intermediate level accounting functions such as general ledger/account maintenance, account reconciliation, data processing and reporting.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Perform daily uploads of financial data from Reclique Core.
  2. Process and post cash receipts to Accounts Receivable (AR).
  3. Accounts Receivable Invoicing and Tracking
  4. Enter and maintain contribution and grant records in DonorPerfect.
  5. Create, enter, and post AR invoices and receipts.
  6. Conduct bank runs
  7. Record, track, and reconcile monthly ACH deposits and receipts.
  8. Download, review, and verify monthly bank statements, ensuring receipt.
  9. Organize and maintain accurate filing systems for financial records.
  10. Perform monthly bank reconciliations.
  11. Maintain copies of checks and supporting financial documentation in accordance with record retention policies.
  12. Provide general administrative and accounting support to the Finance Department as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting/related field preferred. Associate's degree in accounting/ related field plus at least two years of accounting experience, or equivalent work experience
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Must be highly organized and have the ability to work with confidential matters
