Duties and responsibilities:

Responsible for coordinating and implementing all aspects of targeted revitalization strategies.

  • Work as part of a team to implement department strategies and tactics through community, city and regional efforts including initiatives to improve the quality of life, physical appearance, economic vitality and social cohesion in target neighborhoods.
  • Collaborate with community residents, nonprofit organizations, government officials, elected representatives, business leaders, and faith communities to accomplish community objectives.
  • Involve public officials, businesses, community groups, residents and others with the nature and focus of this effort on a regular basis.
  • Implement plan objectives through the use of revitalization tools, such as rehabilitation programs; existing state and federal funding sources and grant opportunities; administrative procedures; political mechanisms and legal processes, as appropriate
  • Recommend, initiate, plan, and execute research projects under the guidance of the Director of Community Development.
  • Document and record ongoing revitalization efforts and develop reports on progress and outcomes.
  • Attend, facilitate, present, and coordinate logistics, collateral materials, and displays for public or community meetings or forums.
  • In cooperation with the Director of Community Development assist with completing grant reports.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a four year college or university with two years demonstrated experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus
  • Ability to successfully pass Act 33/34 and FBI clearances
  • Valid Driver’s License and car insurance with an acceptable motor vehicle report.

Salary:

This is a non-exempt position with a starting hourly rate of $20.00. This position is based on a 35-hour workweek.
