Quality Engineer
Join an established company in the growing robotics industry in Pittsburgh. As a Quality Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest quality standards for our custom electrical-mechanical designs. The position involves working collaboratively with various departments to manage quality issues, facilitate timely resolutions, and support new product introductions.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with all departments to manage quality deliverables both internally and externally, facilitating resolutions to reduce customer impact.
- Conduct advanced product quality planning and quality issue management.
- Support new product introduction by reviewing designs and documentation for robustness and manufacturability.
- Perform root-cause analysis of in-process and field failures using globally recognized techniques to report findings and facilitate corrective actions.
- Coordinate and lead internal audits in support of third-party certification and continuous improvement.
- Conduct third-party, customer, and supplier audits to recognized standards, ensuring follow-up and resolution of any issues.
- Work with technicians, engineers, and the manufacturing team to develop and update process documentation, ensuring clarity and understanding.
- Ensure production employees are trained on safety and quality processes, supporting initiatives such as 5S, ESD, and FOD.
- Proficiency in writing procedures and quality process evaluation.
- Strong experience in failure and root cause analysis techniques.
- Engineering degree required.
- Experience in electrical-mechanical assembly, particularly with printed circuit boards, custom cable/harness assemblies, and software.
- Ability to interpret engineering prints and schematics.
- Four (4) year degree in Engineering or equivalent.
- Five (5) years’ experience in a lean manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with mechanical and complex electronic systems.
- Experience outside of the robotics industry will be considered, with a preference for candidates from the automotive industry.
The role is set in a dynamic environment within a company established in the robotics industry, located in Pittsburgh. The work involves collaboration with cross-functional teams and requires adherence to safety and quality processes.
Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of PITTSBURGH, PA. Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $43.27/hr.
