PEER SUPPORT SPECIALIST

The spacious campus borders Fairmount Park in the Roxborough section of Philadelphia. With one of the leading alcohol and drug detox and rehab programs in Philadelphia, Fairmount is the provider of choice for individuals requiring specialized co-occurring psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment. We are currently seeking a per diem Certified Peer Specialist to join our team.

The Certified Peer Specialist provides quality direct patient care to individuals with behavioral/mental health illnesses and chemical dependency disorders. Primary responsibilities include group and individual education, provide ongoing peer support, teach and promote self-advocacy and recovery based/trauma informed principles, function as an integral member of treatment team.

• Master’s degree in divinity, or graduate of accredited seminary or school of Theology at a graduate level, or related field required.
• 1-3 years working with people in recovery from mental health disorders
• Minimum of 2 units Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) required (200 hours of structured group and individual education).
• Board Certified Pastoral Counselor (CpastC) or Certified Clinical Pastoral Therapist (CCPT) or Licensed Pastoral Counselor (LPC) from the American Association of Pastoral Counselors preferred . * License and/or Certification must be in good standing with the American Association of Pastoral Counselors preferred.
