PURCHASING aSSISTANT

Souderton, Pennsylvania

Primary Role:

Support plant operations by managing inventory of parts, materials, and PPE inventory; processing requisitions, cycle counts; and assisting Purchasing Lead & Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

Inventory Management:

· Conduct daily and cyclical inventory counts.

· Verify on-hand inventory and incoming shipments.

· Maintain accurate records and proper labeling of materials.

Material Handling:

· Receive, issue, and deliver parts and materials.

· Operate a forklift for unloading and storage.

· Prepare materials for return or repair.

Documentation & Data Entry:

· Post receivers and issue slips in SAP.

· File paperwork and slips in numerical sequence.

· Locate parts and materials in the database for maintenance and other departments.

Cross Training:

· Provide support across purchasing areas including packaging and office operations.

5S Standards Commitment:

· Maintain a clean and organized work area by applying 5S principles: Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain.

· Actively contribute to the Standardize and Sustain phases to embed these practices into daily routines, promoting safety and operational excellence.

Additional Duties:

· Assist with special projects and audits.

· Support other departments during peak times or absences.

· Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

· Assist in training new team members and provide cross-functional support.

· All other duties assigned.

Requirements:

· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

· Ability to work independently with a dependable work ethic.

· Excellent computer skills:

· SAP experience preferred

· Microsoft Excel required

· Ability to work in a fast pace environment.

· Comfortable with physical tasks and forklift operation.
