Director - spring musical - school
Job Overview
Join us as the Vocal Director for our Spring Musical Bye, Bye Birdie, at Antietam School District! This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and dynamic individual to lead our student vocal portion of the program, inspiring students to express themselves through music and performance. After school/evening rehearsal schedule in January and February, shows March 13-15, 2026. You will cultivate a vibrant environment where creativity flourishes, guiding students in vocal techniques and stage presence. Your leadership will be pivotal in bringing our musical to life, fostering teamwork, and enhancing the overall theatrical experience.
Responsibilities
- Direct vocal rehearsals, ensuring students develop their singing abilities and confidence on stage.
- Collaborate with the production team to integrate music seamlessly into the overall performance.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff about rehearsal schedules, expectations, and progress.
- Foster a positive atmosphere that encourages creativity, collaboration, and personal growth among students.
- Evaluate student performances and provide ongoing support to enhance their skills throughout the production process.
Skills
- Strong background in theater and vocal performance with a passion for teaching.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with students and parents alike.
- Proficient in public speaking to confidently help lead rehearsals and presentations.
- Proven ability provide constructive feedback on student performances.
- Enthusiastic about fostering a love for the arts in young performers while maintaining high expectations for excellence.
