SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The HIM Regulatory and Compliance Coordinator will work with the HIM Director as a liaison between PSH and various organizational and governmental relations/entities. Will work closely with the Director of Health Information Management in attending meetings at all PSH entities pertaining to understanding, tracking, improving and teaching important HIM expectations of performance in regards to Federal, State and local Regulations and Compliance for maintaining, storing, sharing and safeguarding patient records. This position will train HIM staff and others in rules and regulation effecting them as well as others in the organization as needed, such as MOAs. Will monitor and track regulatory expectation of performance to show proof of compliance or alert Director to areas of opportunity. Additionally this position will work with others in the organization to ensure Protected Health Information is secured and shared appropriately with requestors and patients. Will also work closely with high levels in PSH Cybersecurity, Privacy, Legal Counsel, Risk, Regulatory and Quality departments.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

Associate Degree or equivalent experience (2 years)

Minimum three (3) years working in a HIM leadership role or performing similar duties in relevant industry
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):
-
RHIT or RHIA from a CAHIIM-accredited program preferred
