Ultrasound Tech Job Details

• Assignment Type: Locum tenens (Travel Ultrasound Tech)
• Healthcare Facility: Short Term Acute Care Hospital, Level I Trauma Center
• Location: New Haven, Connecticut 06510 (Connecticut healthcare jobs)
• Start Date: September 22, 2025
• End Date: November 24, 2025
• Assignment Duration: 9 weeks
• Shift: Day shift, Sunday – Thursday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (8-hour shifts, 40 hours/week)
• Guaranteed Hours: Yes
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2570 - $2640
• Charting System: Epic
• Scrub Color: Teal tops and bottoms
• Parking: Available ($125/month)

Ultrasound Technologist Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist (1.5 years accepted with Level I Trauma or travel healthcare experience)
• Active ARDMS certification required
• BLS certification required
• Experience with PHILIPS ultrasound equipment preferred
• Experience in Level I Trauma Center and community hospital settings required
• Experience with Epic charting system preferred
• Connecticut state license (pending accepted, must be active prior to start date)
• Ability to float within scope to meet facility needs, including to sister facilities as needed
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
• One professional reference required
• Not accepting local candidates (must reside more than 75 miles from facility)

Ultrasound Tech Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of general and specialized ultrasound procedures for inpatients, outpatients, and emergency department patients in a Level I Trauma Center
• Utilize PHILIPS ultrasound equipment for diagnostic imaging
• Work with diverse patient populations, including adults, geriatrics, neonates, infants, pediatrics, and adolescents
• Conduct abdominal, vascular, OB/GYN, breast, pediatric, and trauma-related ultrasound studies
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams in a fast-paced acute care environment
• Float to sister healthcare facilities as needed to support patient care
• Accurately document procedures and patient information in the Epic charting system
