About the Role
The Tool and Die Maker I fabricates, repairs, and maintains tooling to support production operations. The role performs machining, assembly, and troubleshooting of tools and dies. The position contributes to tooling reliability, product quality, and production efficiency.
What You’ll Do
- Own tooling tasks by fabricating and repairing dies to production standards.
- Operate machining equipment including lathes, mills, and grinders.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and tooling specifications.
- Assemble and adjust tooling components to meet dimensional requirements.
- Perform precision measurements using callipers, micrometres, and gauges.
- Support tool builds and modifications based on engineering requirements.
- Inspect tooling to identify wear, damage, or performance issues.
- Repair or replace tooling components to restore functionality.
- Troubleshoot tooling issues impacting production performance or quality.
- Perform preventative maintenance to extend tool life and reliability.
- Document tooling repairs, adjustments, and maintenance activities.
- Support production teams with tooling-related technical assistance.
Additional Expectations
- Remain compliant with the Code of Conduct and Policies which includes the Kingspan Group Compliance Policy.
- Ensure that all duties related to product compliance are adhered to in accordance with the Product Compliance Policy, Laws, Regulations, and market demands.
- Responsible for all tasks to achieve compliance goals and demands of the Compliance Management System.
- Must raise concerns related to the Compliance Management System to their supervisor, manager, or any member of the Leadership Team, or through the confidential whistle blower service.
What You'll Bring
- High School Diploma or GED required; technical training preferred.
- 2 - 4 years of experience in tool and die or machining environments preferred.
- Strong understanding of machining processes and tooling operations.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Experience using precision measurement tools and equipment.
- Basic knowledge of CNC machining is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and quality.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
