VP Global Direct Procurement

: : We are seeking a Vice President - Global Direct Procurement who will develop, integrate, and drive global strategy. The successful candidate will report directly to the Chief Procurement Officer and will join the company as a key leader in the Procurement Leadership Team (PLT). This role will be responsible for creating best-in-class operational discipline for the function in an environment that is compliant, data driven and people centric. Along with key operational responsibilities, this role will foster connectivity, and an inclusive and engaging team culture focused on delivering results for the organization. Key Executional Responsibilities:
  • Provide strong leadership to a global team of roughly 35 subject matter experts with responsibility for circa. $1.8Bn in spend and build team capabilities in the procurement function
  • Develop and deploy a long-term strategy aligned with our Company initiatives and long-term strategic goals.
  • Deliver structural cost savings, supplier rationalization, contract implementation, and DPO enhancement, as well as other KPIs to meet or exceed established targets
  • Drive compliance under our policies and within our processes that govern the procurement of indirect parts, materials, and service.
  • Work with key internal customers at various levels of the organization, and specifically within our executive leadership team, to build strong partnership and to ensure services are procured in a cost effective and expedient manner.
  • Be a change agent and exercise horizontal leadership and collaboration with senior leadership, procurement peers, suppliers and other partners to drive right focus on necessary change management and transformation.
  • Supports: All primary functional areas in addition to key materials and equipment to support our refinish business
People and Talent Management
  • Support and grow team members with a focus on career path development, diversity of thought and experience.
  • Develop staffing plans and levels aligned with budget and business needs
  • Partner with HR to build diverse slates for open roles and interview, select, and hire people managers and key technical talent as needed within the organization.
  • Lead employees using performance management processes and tools to engage and encourage employee contribution including goal setting, ongoing feedback, and annual performance reviews.
  • Engage employees in career development planning and foster growth and development to support functional talent management, including identification and development of a pipeline of future manager talent.
  • Foster a spirit of teamwork and unity among team members that allows for disagreement over ideas, conflict and expeditious conflict resolution, and the appreciation of diversity as well as cohesiveness, supportiveness, and working effectively together to enable each employee and the team to succeed.
  • Maintain transparent communication practices by appropriately communicating organization information.
  • Empower employees to take responsibility for their jobs and goals. Delegate responsibility and expect accountability and regular feedback.
Skills and Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a business, supply chain, or technical discipline
  • Demonstrated ability to define KPI's and drive a performance-based culture
  • Servant leader with a focus on the customer experience and talent development
  • 10+ years of senior leadership experience in strategic procurement.
  • Prior experience partnering with senior executive stakeholders and across functions at all levels
  • Demonstrated ability to drive productivity and compliance throughout a complex organization
  • Advanced negotiation skills
  • Ability to define strategic initiatives across a global network
  • Expert-level written and oral communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to think strategically, conceptually, and analytically to assess problems, identify and consider potential solutions, and make timely recommendations
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time
