Academic and Career Support Specialist
AVAILABLE: Immediately. This is a full-time, benefit eligible position. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
SALARY/RANK: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred. A minimum of two years of experience in student success, academic support, career development, disability services, counseling, athlete support, or related fields. A minimum of two years of experience working in a higher education setting preferred. Ability to manage a caseload of students through proactive outreach, individualized support plans, and coordinated referrals. An understanding of career development support and best practices, and ability to guide students in career-decision making and development. Strong ability to design, implement, and assess career-related programming. Effective interpersonal and communication skills to work with campus constituents Ability to collect, analyze and interpret data to support continuous program evaluation. Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain a high level of professionalism.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Academic and Career Support Specialist supports undergraduate academic progression and career readiness through coordinated academic support services, case management, and career programming implementation. This role monitors student progress, supports retention, and academic success strategies, and maintains consistent and timely documentation and records. This role serves as the primary contact for academic-support-related referrals for students and as the secondary contact for career support and major exploration meetings. The Academic and Career Support Specialist is responsible for coordination of the Waynesburg University Career Closet. Additionally, this role is expected to plan, coordinate, and execute career-related programming including career fairs, workshops, and more. Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
