THE POSITION

The Pennsylvania Department of Aging is looking for an Aging Services Specialist to join the Bureau of Quality Assurance. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Aging Services Specialist, your work is focused on reviewing documentation and assessing compliance to help ensure that services for older adults meet required standards. As an Aging Services Specialist, you will perform the following duties:

  • Program Knowledge: Maintain understanding of regulations, policies, and procedures for Area Agency on Aging (AAA) Programs

  • Record Evaluation: Review consumer files and assess compliance using designated software systems

  • Team Coordination: Collaborate with colleagues to reach agreement on review findings and decisions

  • Review Management: Lead assigned evaluations by organizing schedules, documenting results, and communicating outcomes

  • Performance Review: Examine improvement plans and assist agencies with recommendations based on findings

  • Report Preparation: Prepare written summaries to share review results with staff and agency partners

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment

  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.

  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of professional experience in a human services program conducting human services related research or providing social services to clients, and a bachelor's degree; or

  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
