Job Description Summary
The primary function of this position is to perform clinical laboratory testing on companion animals using both automated and manual techniques in all sections of the lab; this includes hematology, chemistry, coagulation, cytology, blood banking, immunology.

Job Description

Job Responsibilities
  • Preparation and testing of laboratory specimens, following established protocol
  • Review and release of results; communicate with pathologists and/or clinicians regarding abnormal results
  • Performing daily quality control, evaluating results/trends, communicating abnormal results to supervisors/lead technician(s)
  • Accessioning specimens, answering phones, preparing specimens for shipment
  • Teaching veterinary students in laboratory classes, on rotations through clinical laboratory
  • Laboratory organization, inventory management, restocking laboratory supplies
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

  • Associate of Science and 1 to 2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
