Technician, Clinical A Job Description Summary
The primary function of this position is to perform clinical laboratory testing on companion animals using both automated and manual techniques in all sections of the lab; this includes hematology, chemistry, coagulation, cytology, blood banking, immunology. Job Description Job Responsibilities
- Preparation and testing of laboratory specimens, following established protocol
- Review and release of results; communicate with pathologists and/or clinicians regarding abnormal results
- Performing daily quality control, evaluating results/trends, communicating abnormal results to supervisors/lead technician(s)
- Accessioning specimens, answering phones, preparing specimens for shipment
- Teaching veterinary students in laboratory classes, on rotations through clinical laboratory
- Laboratory organization, inventory management, restocking laboratory supplies
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
- Associate of Science and 1 to 2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
