This role is ideal for an Occupational Therapist with experience in school-based environments who is passionate about making a positive impact on early childhood development.
Qualifications & Preferred Experience:
- Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist in Pennsylvania
- Prior experience working with children in a school or pediatric setting, specifically ages 3 to 5
- Knowledge of school-based service delivery, including IEP and MDE process
- Strong communication and collaboration skills when working with multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to perform evaluations, create goals, and monitor progress effectively
Responsibilities Include:
- Providing both direct and indirect occupational therapy services to preschool-aged children according to their individual needs
- Conducting thorough evaluations and assessments for initial, re-evaluation, and ongoing student needs to determine eligibility and requirements for therapy services
- Collaborating closely with IEP/MDE teams, sharing insights and recommendations regarding student progress, goals, and accommodations
- Developing, writing, and continually updating IEP goals; actively monitoring, documenting, and communicating student progress
- Serving as a resource for families and educators to support and guide students’ functional skill development within the classroom and at home
