Accounting Supervisor
Independence Physician Management (IPM), is a subsidiary of Universal Health Services, Inc (UHS). IPM was formed in 2012 as the physician services unit of UHS. IPM develops and manages multi-specialty physician networks and urgent care clinics which align with UHS acute care facilities. It also provides select services for the Behavioral Health division of UHS. Through continuing growth, IPM operates in 11 markets across six states and the District of Columbia. Position Overview:
The Accounting Supervisor will coordinate and prepare monthly financial statement package and general ledger accounting for Independent Physician Management physician practices. Additionally this role will supervise accountants, overseeing their financial close process including the reconciliation and analysis of all balance sheet, and income statement accounts within assigned time frames.
Key Responsibilities include:
Coordinate and prepare monthly financial package schedules for themselves and supervises the day to day activities of accounting staff, ensuring the staff provides the highest level of technical accuracy and service excellence to all customer groups
Prepare and post month end close journal entries. Posts expenses and revenues to generate statements and worksheets for themselves and overseeing their team
Review data, payroll information, bank statements, outstanding checks, etc. Reconciles bank balances. Takes corrective actions as required
Perform monthly and ad hoc reports/analysis, including the reconciliation and analysis of all balance sheet and income statement accounts within assigned time frames
Provide accounting and information systems support to management and Practices
Assist management with compiling data for internal and external audits
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related discipline with 5 - 10 y ears' experience in general corporate accounting in a major accounting function such as General Ledger, Budget, Financial Reporting, AP, etc. Healthcare preferred. 1 - 3 years' experience in a leadership role.
Working knowledge of general accounting concepts, practices, standards, principles and activities related to one or more corporate accounting functions such as General Ledger, Budgeting, Financial Reporting, AP, etc. Superior communication and organizational skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office products, and other applications such as Hyperion Enterprise, McKesson General Ledger, Pillar and Crystal reporting
Minimal travel required (0-10%)
