Key Responsibilities
As a Machine Operator, you will play a critical role in producing high-quality plastic compounds:
- Set up and operate industrial mixing and extrusion equipment according to production specifications
- Follow production travelers and documentation to track materials from raw input to finished product
- Read and interpret production forms (recipes) to select and measure correct materials
- Adjust machine settings to meet required specs (size, shape, color, hardness, etc.)
- Perform thorough machine cleanouts between runs to prevent contamination
- Accurately record production data, process steps, and quality checks
- Monitor product flow from cooling through packaging and staging
- Inspect finished products to ensure quality and customer specifications are met
- Perform basic quality control checks and report any issues
- Safely operate a forklift to move materials and finished goods
Work Environment
- Industrial plastics manufacturing facility with a hands-on, fast-paced atmosphere
- Exposure to production machinery, mixers, and extrusion equipment
- Noticeable plastic smell typical of the industry
- Requires standing, walking, and lifting up to 55 lbs as needed
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in manufacturing or machine operation preferred (training available)
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and production documentation
- Strong attention to quality and safety
- Forklift experience is a plus
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Denver, PA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
