We are looking to hire a Portfolio Analytics & Strategy Expert for Credit Portfolio Management within PNC's Credit Risk organization.

Job Summary:

The Credit Portfolio Expert will provide enterprise-level oversight of credit portfolio positioning, risk-adjusted performance, and strategic governance. This role combines deep expertise in credit risk, portfolio analytics, regulatory compliance, and executive-level engagement. The individual will collaborate with senior stakeholders, ALCO (Asset and Liability Committee), and Credit governance forums to ensure robust risk management practices and deliver actionable insights that influence strategic decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute credit portfolio strategies aligned with regulatory and internal risk frameworks.

  • Lead independent oversight and challenge of portfolio positioning, concentration risk, and risk appetite adherence.

  • Oversee advanced scenario modeling, CECL and CCAR analytics, and stress testing to identify emerging risks and recommend qualitative adjustments and mitigation actions.

  • Benchmark portfolio performance against peers and industry standards using unified analytics frameworks.

  • Prepare and present portfolio performance reports and risk assessments to senior management, ALCO, and regulatory bodies.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement governance enhancements and centralized reporting standards.

  • Drive development of enterprise-wide credit analytics and reporting capabilities, ensuring transparency and consistency.

  • Develop and implement advanced quantitative approach, including BAU (Business As Usual) stress testing methodology, to assess emerging risks and create/update the risk operating model and governance in support of business's strategic expansion.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in credit risk management or portfolio oversight within a large bank or equivalent institution.

  • Proven expertise in Leveraged Lending, Private Credit, Financial Sponsor ecosystem, syndicated loan life cycle, and credit governance frameworks.

  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial modeling, scenario analysis, and risk assessment tools.

  • Excellent communication skills with ability to influence senior stakeholders and present complex information clearly.

  • Leadership experience in managing cross-functional projects and demonstrated ability in driving changes.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with advanced portfolio analytics platforms and data visualization tools.

  • Knowledge of regulatory expectations, CECL, CCAR, and stress testing methodologies.

  • Ability to engage effectively in executive forums and governance committees.

  • Passionate about financial markets.

Additional Information:

This role is an individual contributor that offers the opportunity to shape credit portfolio strategy, working closely with executive leadership and contributing to the bank's risk resilience and growth objectives.

This position is primarily based in a location within PNC's footprint.

Job Description

  • Provides financial and regulatory reporting and analyses to maintain adequate controls over the financial and regulatory reporting processes. Responsible for running complex business performance, risk and operational analytics. May include the development of analytical methods/models to assess market, credit and/or operational risk of new and existing financial products.

  • Leverages business / product expertise to rigorously analyze large datasets, improve risk adjusted returns, deliver profitable growth, and communicate conclusions. Synthesizes analytical results and develops, recommends, and implements business strategies that improve lending decisions, assist in managing risk, increase revenues, reduce exposure to losses, meet business goals, and improve performance. Establishes baselines for strategies and tracks actual performance to expectations.

  • Applies predictive models, third party data, and other tools to develop and execute appropriate segmentation and targeting for acquisition and portfolio strategies to provide insight into portfolio risk. Manages engagements with internal and external information suppliers ensuring solution is fit for purpose while maintaining appropriate governance and oversight.

  • Understands and communicates regulatory and financial accounting impacts on the balance sheet to regulators and PNC control functions as appropriate. Interacts with regulators, internal audit, and management concerning credit portfolio analyses and credit risk appetite.

  • Evaluates market conditions and peer bank behavior to identify internal and external trends and issues affecting credit risk and return and to determine appropriate risk limits and optimal portfolio allocation.

  • Collaborates with the line of business, Finance, and Risk partners to assess and establish credit risk appetite and to understand its implications, as well as to establish policies and procedures governing the identification, monitoring, and management of risk appetite.

Pay Transparency

Base Salary: $100,000.00 - $254,150.00

Salaries may vary based on geographic location, market data and on individual skills, experience, and education. This role is incentive eligible with the payment based upon company, business and/or individual performance.
