Paralegal - Workers' Compensation - $70-75k - REMOTE! This can be a fully remote opportunity for candidates that live in Pennsylvania, New Jersey or Delaware! Growing law firm is seeking a Workers Compensation Paralegal to join their team! As a Workers' Compensation Paralegal, you will provide essential legal and administrative support to attorneys within the firm. This role requires specific knowledge of Pennsylvania's workers' compensation laws and procedures. Key Responsibilities- Case Management & Administration: Organize and maintain physical and electronic client files, managing case calendars and deadlines, and docketing important dates like hearings and depositions. Also ensure that all legal documents are properly filed and served.
- Document Handling & Drafting: A major part of the role is collecting, reviewing, and analyzing a wide range of documents. This includes requesting and summarizing medical records, bills, and employment records. Will also be responsible for drafting various legal documents such as pleadings, discovery requests and responses, stipulations, and settlement agreements.
- Client & Third-Party Communication: Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, keeping them informed of their case's progress and gathering necessary information. Also communicate with insurance adjusters, medical providers, and opposing counsel.
- Trial & Hearing Preparation: Assist attorneys in preparing for hearings and trials by preparing exhibit and witness lists, organizing evidence, and assembling trial binders. This may also include scheduling depositions, medical evaluations, and other key events.
- Legal Research: Conduct legal research and stay up-to-date on changes to the Pennsylvania Workers' Compensation Act. A strong understanding of the law is critical for success in this role.
- Pennsylvania Workers' Comp Experience: This is a mandatory requirement. Specific experience with the Pennsylvania Workers' Compensation Act, its procedures, and the state's Bureau of Workers' Compensation is required.
- Education: A bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong computer skills are necessary, especially with case management software, e-filing systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
