Baker
- Maintain high quality and consistent product standards.
- Maintain a clean work environment.
- Prep ingredients for bakery items 2 to 3 times a week.
- Follow recipes to prepare baked goods. This would involve adjusting ingredients amounts according to the amount of baked goods needed.
- Monitor oven temperatures to ensure consistent product.
- Pack and label items for orders and to prepare for delivery to the coffee shops, ensuring the proper amount of product is getting to the appropriate shop location.
- Taste products regularly to maintain familiarity with product and quality standards.
- Support a positive work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned by bakery manager and supervisors.
- Communicate with team members and management to solve problems.
- Strong attention to detail and respect for cleanliness and sanitation.
- High integrity and personal responsibility.
- Openness to criticism and constantly striving to improve.
- Ability to multi-task with ease and problem solve under challenging conditions.
- Stand and walk - must be able to stand for 4-8 hour shifts and move about the shop.
- Perform repetitive tasks - must be able to complete repetitive motions with the hands, wrists, and forearms.
- Taste and smell - must be able to detect and perceive smells
- Oral communication - must be able to clearly and effectively communicate with customers and team members.
- Carry weight, lift - must be able to lift up to 5 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- In-person: Work is performed at the Commonplace Coffee bakery in Shelocta, Pennsylvania.
- The work environment can be noisy, hot, or cold.
- This job involves working closely with other individuals in an environment with limited space.
- Hourly, part-time; 20-25 hours per week (Potential to expand to full-time.)
- This position reports to the Bakery Manager.
